Garden Mania Monday: The end of the beginning

For about 2 weeks now I've been planning on posting an update of my garden complete with pics and all... but I've been busy FINISHING it! The good news is, all my planting is done. I had to re-plant a few things which are giving me trouble and not wanting to sprout... now watch me end up with twice what I intended of those things :P Ahhh gardening is funny that way!
So, all I have left to do is upkeep: weeding, re-mulching as needed, building cages/fences to protect plants, watering... Which, BTW is frustrating, because remember all that rain I had in the spring which inhibited my planting? Now it hasn't rained for about 3 weeks. Hullo? I am READY for some rain now! We keep catching the tippy edge of some storms, but it's not enough to keep anything alive. So I'm hoping for rain now. Why can't the weather just cooperate? Ahh if only!
Hmmm I guess I haven't got much else to say. I'll go ahead and share some pictures, but they are about 2 weeks old now :P Maybe I can find some time tomorrow to post some more. Tuesdays are *quite* busy around here, though!

Here's a panorama of the N side of the garden.

This is the South section of the garden where the tomatoes, watermelon, and cool weather crops are planted. Since this photo I've also planted potatoes and a tigger melon
