Fabuloscity and Free Food Fridays

If I was to sum up this past week in one word, it'd be a tossup between "busy," "tiring," and "awesome." So can I sum it up in three words? I'm going to pretend you said yes. I knew I liked you :)  Anyway, it was a great week, tiring though it may have been. On Sunday after church we had a little picnic since we couldn't let a 70-degree day in February go by without tipping our hats in some way... Then we went to see "The Grace Card" at the theater, thanks to our new friend Warren paying our way! (He's from an organization called "Hard Hats for Christ" and has been helping build desks and mark out where cabins are going for Teen Harvest!) So that was cool... BTW, I highly recommend the movie. The storyline may have been somewhat predictable for this movie-critic family, but nevertheless it was good and had a great message behind it!
On Monday, work began to lay tile in my bathroom *finally* PTL! Unfortunately it still won't be done for a while, but I've waited so long that I don't mind waiting a little longer ;)
The busiest and tiring-est days of this week were Tuesday through Thursday. But they made me exceedingly happy, too. I planted my cool-weather crops! <cue applause>  I planted 4 (35') rows of peas, 1 (40') row of spinach, and 1+ row of lettuce, and also about 30' of flowers in front of the milk barn :D  Now the reason it took me so long is because I ended up hand-turning most of it. Yes, as in with a shovel, hoe, and rake. We're talking a good piece of ground here... Now you know why I was tired! Fortunately it *had* previously been broken up by the rake behind the tractor, but after several rains, it was packed back down a bit. Thankfully by the last day I was able to talk my big bruddah into firing up the roto-tiller for me and turning the next 3 rows for the spinach and lettuce. At long-last it's done! And this is just the beginning! B-)

Oh, and you must allow me this moment to throw confetti on account my beeeautiful baby tomato plants! :beams: They started peeking out of their seed coats on Feb 26, and this picture on the left was taken March 1.  The peppers, of course, are much slower in showing up, and are finally fully-sprouted today (the bell peppers, anyway... the hot peppers haven't shown up yet :-/ ) I haven't taken a picture yet, but I will take one today and post it soon!  Ahhh growing things makes me happy! Can you tell? ;)

In other news, I am hopefully planning on starting a blog-series which I will attempt to post every Friday (or every other Friday, at the rate I keep up with these things) called "Free Food Friday" in which I will share a frabulous recipe with the world. Because I think everybody should have a chance to get a taste of the Neighbour-hood.  ...Though, granted, it won't taste *exactly* the same b/c somehow the same dish made with the same ingredients by two different people can taste different. Mystery. I guess if you really want a taste, you'll just have to come visit.  <subtle hint>
