Aside from the tomato graduating, my major production of the week has been doing a lot of food prep for the blitz. Yesterday I made about 3 gallons of fabulous chili (it turned out *perfect* this time!) and 6 pans of enchiladas... and wondering if that's enough! But that should be the brunt of the early meal prep for now. I still have to make about 100 hamburger patties and some muffins and such, but those things are mostly just time-consuming, not so much labor-intensive. I'm getting lots of whining and complaining about all the wonderful smells filling the house that nobody is allowed to partake of for 2 weeks :P I should send them all away or, better yet, take a vacation myself. But instead of snapping their little necks, I'm going to be nice and make them some banana bread and banana cream pie today. They will be shocked they actually get to eat it! Kill 'em with love, maybe? Hmmm maybe, but I'm afraid they'll never lie down and keep quiet! :P

Slaving away!
Yikes this has been a busy week! So busy I haven't even had time to think... about anything! Except food, building blitz prep, and graduating tomatoes. I don't have nearly enough pots for my tomatoes, not to mention my peppers! I tried saving containers all year, but I wasn't able to save enough (The one time people throw things away is when you don't want them to!) I've still got about 75 tomatoes to graduate, and about 60 Peppers that will need to graduate soon (they're about a week behind the tomatoes)
My tomato plants that I've already graduated have already grown noticeably. Since they take up more room in their pots, they don't all fit on my little table in the dining room, so I've had to move some of them into my room. They're taking over my desk and windowsil :P I don't mind too much though. If my desk wasn't covered in tomatoes it'd be covered in something else I'm working on! It does rather look like I baby my tomatoes though. (what ever gave you that impression anyway?) Well ok... yeah... I do baby them a bit. But so what? Without them I wouldn't have salsa... that would be devastating! ;) Anyway, they got to sit in some nice sunshine and drink in a warm spring breeze because it's been soooooooooo nice these past couple of days! Spring is definitely in the air! <3
